Lafayette Avenue

HWC provided full-time inspection for the reconstruction of Lafayette Avenue in Vigo County, IN. This project will tie into the future reconstructed portions of Lafayette Avenue at the northern limits of Terre Haute, IN. Construction was completed in August 2019.

Improvements for this phase of Lafayette Avenue included the widening of the roadway to accommodate two lanes of traffic with a center turn lane, improving site drainage, updating a traffic signal and a pedestrian cross walk at the local Junior High School and reestablishing the southbound turn lane activation loops at the Haythorne Avenue traffic signal. This LPA project was completed at an estimated cost of $1.06 million, which was a significant savings as compared to the bid price of $1.35 million.
