Dearborn County Strategic Action Plan R1.0
Transportation challenges and other obstacles limited Dearborn County’s growth despite its location in the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. Building on its previous experience leading local and regional planning efforts, HWC was tasked with developing a strategic plan to help Dearborn County communities reach their full potential. The county-wide Strategic Action Plan established eight economic development priorities. This innovative planning process utilized individual community plans as the foundation for the Strategic Action Plan. This enabled HWC to quickly identify common concerns and propose strategies that capitalized on the communities’ shared opportunities.

Seashore Water Park
HWC led the renovation of Seashore Waterpark from conception through construction. Beginning with a public survey and existing conditions study, concepts were developed, reviewed, and finalized alongside the parks department and an engaged steering committee. A major aquatics renovation, this project was implemented in two phases. Key features include an activity pool with toy structure, water slides, wave pool, current channel with vortex, and water walk. Sunbathing lawns and shade structure components complete the design. The city has also retained HWC Engineering to lead design efforts for an expansion of the facility.

US 50 HHA Overlay, INDOT Seymour District
HWC was selected to provide design services for the US 50 HMA Overlay project under the INDOT On Call contract in the INDOT Seymour District. Project let in April 2018 at a cost of $1,300,000, which was 5% below the engineer’s estimate.
