Clay Historical Museum Depot and Archives Building
HWC provided site, drainage, and stormwater engineering for the redevelopment of the Monon Depot Museum parcel located at the southwest corner of 1st Street and Monon Boulevard in Carmel, Indiana.
The redevelopment includes moving the Monon Depot Museum, which dates to 1883 and served as a train depot from 1883 to 1974, north on the land and providing site design for the new 4,200 SF multi-purpose Carmel Clay Historical Society building along the Monon Greenway.
HWC’s design included a public café-style patio, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure associated with the new three-story building. Our final site plans included plans for demolition, site improvements, grading, utilities, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), erosion control, and landscape.
The new Carmel Clay Historical Society building is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
